The Kraft Group today unveiled its new rooftop solar-energy system at the Patriot Place retail plaza next to Gillette Stadium in Foxboro.
The 525-kilowatt photovoltaic power system was built by Marlboro-based Evergreen Solar and, starting last fall, installed by Constellation Energy.
Kraft Group Chairman Robert Kraft hosted a ceremony today with officials including Congressman Barney Frank and Ian Bowles, Gov. Deval Patrick’s energy and environmental affairs secretary.
The system’s 2,556 panels, located on seven buildings at Patriot Place, will generate some 625,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity every year. That’s about 30 percent of the shopping, dining and entertainment complex’s energy needs.
Some of the panels were placed atop The Hall at Patriot Place, the venue sponsored by Raytheon.
